People pleasers are the absolute worst. And you know what? They’re the absolute best as well. That’s the problem with people pleasers. They’re absolute. I should know. I am one.
In one of my last places of employ, I supervised a people pleaser. Let’s say her name was Lisa. Lisa was always willing to do anything I asked of her. Above and beyond and absolute. I could always count on Lisa for everything — from producing a major event to bringing me the coffee I left in my office. It worked out very well for me.
Internally, though, Lisa was bitter.
